We are a small bookkeeping and consulting firm dedicated to helping other small businesses succeed. 

We understand our clients' needs and are passionate about the work we do. Every day, entrepreneurs are losing precious time and revenue stressing about keeping track of their own books. Today, we provide bookkeeping and business consulting services for Greater Boston, the South Shore, Metro West, Rhode Island and remote services wherever you are.

Kirsten Lakin

Account Manager / Partner

Kirsten Lakin started her bookkeeping career at the age of 15. She worked part time through college. Upon graduation, she accepted a full time Finance Controller position at a General Contracting company. There, she picked up the skill of juggling many tasks at once and maintains to this day the specialty of job costing among multiple companies. Kirsten started taking on her own clients in 2017 and has been enthralled with helping small businesses ever since. She works with any and all industries including Nonprofits, Health Care, Contractors, and more. She will jump at the opportunity to work with Woman/Minority owned businesses.

Melanie Martin-Plant, CGBP

Account Manager / Partner

Melanie Martin-Plant graduated with Valedictorian honors with a degree in Business Management, Minor in Sociology, and a Certificate in Accounting. She is a Certified Global Business Professional. She has 25 years of experience across various industries as a Full-Charge bookkeeper, Office Manager, Purchasing Agent, and Logistics Coordinator. She understands the ins and outs of business operations. She specializes in correcting accounting errors, system and process design and implementation, CSR/ESG consulting and small business strategic planning. Melanie is also a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor/ Trainer.

Jennifer Dineen, CPA

Staff Accountant

Jennifer Dineen earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting from Bridgewater State University where she graduated Magna cum Laude. She obtained her CPA designation from the Board of Public Accountancy. After graduation, Jennifer joined a public accounting firm where she worked on a wide variety of clients including banks, insurance companies, manufacturing companies, and nonprofits. She was involved in every step of the accounting process and enjoyed helping her clients work through any issues that would arise. Her experience also included year-end audits, issuing audited financial statements, and preparing personal, as well as corporate tax returns. Jennifer also gained experience as the head internal auditor for a utilities company. As such, she was involved in helping departments within the company become more efficient and accurate while meeting their goals.

Alicia McNeill

Admin / Junior Bookkeeper in Training

Alicia is the newest addition to our team. She started with Absolute Business Solutions in February 2025 in a supportive role and has quickly become an integral part of the team. She has a knack for bookkeeping; she is meticulous and detail oriented. We can't wait to see what she has to offer!
